For all you cinema fanatics out there, why not check out the Glasgow Film Festival? It’s running from 17th February – 28th February and has films to suit all tastes, from horror to romance, and all things in between. One film that has been dubbed a must see by Glasgow West End is ‘A Month of Sundays’ which is a “tale of redemption told with dry wit and a light touch.” This and many more are on now, so whether you like having your heart strings tugged or being on the edge of your seat, there will be a film for you at this year’s festival.
Glaswegians are renowned for their sense of humour, and so naturally we have a vibrant comedy scene. If you fancy a fun night out filled with laughter, the Glasgow international Comedy Festival is the place to be. Now in its 14th year, the comedy festival has went from strength to strength and attracts all different kinds of comedians every year. From young comics to better known names such as Chris Ramsey, there’s comedy to suit all tastes. The festival kicks off on the 10th of March and all the different acts be viewed here.
For all the foodies out there, Glasgow will play host to its first ever Restaurant Festival this April. The festival offer a ‘restaurant crawl’ and will showcase some of the finest eateries and chefs in the city, with specially priced menus on offer. There will also be pop up restaurants in Merchant City and all types of food will be showcased. From dry aged meats to seafood, there is sure to be a dish there to get your taste buds tingling. Glasgow Museums
Pictured above is The Burrell Collection, one of many museums that are free to enter in Glasgow. It one of the largest art collections in the world, consisting of more than 9,000 paintings, objects and tapestries. In April it is running various free events for families, which can be viewed here.
