Clyde Property Perth – An Exceptionally Busy & Successful Year!

Last year was another exceptionally busy year for our Clyde Property Perth branch. In general the market has remained buoyant despite the ongoing political uncertainty. However, the various price points and locations have performed very differently. The sub £200,000 market has been robust with high levels of buyers and the majority of property selling well within 2-3 weeks. Between £200,000 – £325,000 there is good demand in the more popular areas of Perthshire including Oakbank, Craigie and Kinnoul in Perth, Scone and Auchterarder. As the value of the property rises the level of buyers noticeably falls away and the market above £325,000 considerably tightens up.

Sales Stats

In 2018 Clyde Property Perth agreed 232 sales – 87% of which have achieved above asking price.

The branch also saw 41 sales above £300,000 – accounting for 20% of all sales at this price point in Perthshire, which is more than double any other agent.

Our Team

The Perth team was strengthened at the beginning of the year with the appointment of a new Area Director. Derek Hughes who rejoined Clyde in 2013 with a decade of Estate Agency and Letting experience, initially running our successful Lettings operations in Stirling and Falkirk. Derek then moved to head up Estate Agency in Shawlands as Area Director however home was always calling and in February 2018 Derek was delighted to be appointed Area Director for Clyde Perth. The team was strengthened further with the appointment of Anne Begg as a viewing agent. Living locally Anne has a wealth of property knowledge having managed Perthshire Solicitor Property Centre for a number of years.

Community Matters

Away from selling property it has been very important to the Perth team to do as much as possible to give back to the local community. In 2018 we feel proud to have raised almost £2,000 for Cancer Research through a sponsored cycle in branch with many participants including Tay FM’s Stuart Webster, local contractors and staff members. Throughout the year our Perth branch has made regular donations to Perth Foodbank and this December, managed along with the branch’s extremely generous clients to fill 3 giant boxes with gifts for Tay FM’s Mission Christmas for Cash for Kids. To round the year off, all of Clyde Perth staff members are donating blood to help with the low stock levels advertised in the media.
