Clyde Property Ayr – Continued Demand for Rural Properties

Here in Ayr this year, as per the previous years, we have seen a continued demand for rural properties, and more interestingly from buyers looking to relocate from south of the border. Properties with plenty of outdoor space are sought after, such as the wonderful Fairfield Cottage, Auchenlongford near Sorn.

Bungalows continue to be quick sellers for us, especially Ecrepont style in the Masonhill and Castlehill areas. We have recently sold an unusual property in Kirkoswald which had been converted by the sellers in to two apartments, both apartments were listed separately and subsequently sold as one house after having many viewers and several offers. Ex local authority properties in Belmont and Forehill have been quick to sell when priced correctly, especially if there’s a level of work to be done, resulting in successful closing dates achieving above the home report value.

Our branch is seeing continued growth with 2019 being our best year since 2016 and we don’t expect the market in Ayrshire to slow down anytime soon so if you’re thinking of selling, now is the right time.

Our lettings team have seen 2019 as another extremely busy and successful year, the demand for letting property has been nothing less than staggering. The steady growth that marked the beginning of the year has continued right through with an even more robust performance than 2018. With the number of potential tenants outweighing the property available landlords are able to pick the most suitable tenant for their property, often the one looking to rent for longer. Properties continuing to be the most popular in the area are 2 bedroom flats, and 3 bed family homes which are well presented.
