The First Minister announced a second lockdown to last until February at the earliest, with tougher restrictions introduced from Saturday January 16th.
People are only allowed to leave home for essential purposes with non-essential shops and schools closed, with further restrictions on click and collect and take away services to come into force in a matter of days.
During this time, the housing market will remain open, and people can continue to buy, sell, rent or let properties, provided government guidelines are followed. Read the full guidance on moving home.
Here at Clyde Property, we welcome the news that the housing market is to remain open throughout this new lockdown period. We believe that it is vital that all agents continue to play their part in reducing the spread of the virus by following all government guidance on how to safely conduct viewings.
We are experiencing high levels of enquiries for both sales and lettings and following on from last year’s busy market with unprecedented demand, there are no signs of this demand dropping as people re-evaluate what is important to them – and what they want from their homes.
If you decide to sell or rent your home, our associates can still visit your home to take photographs and measurements and we encourage virtual viewings as the first step for potential buyers. We ensure that only serious buyers undertake physical viewings of a property and with social distancing measures followed at all times along with the use of face coverings, internal doors kept open and windows open for increased ventilation.
If you or any member of your household is showing symptoms of Covid-19 or are self-isolating, estate agents and potential buyers should not visit your property in person. Similarly, when arranging a viewing we will ensure that potential buyers do not have any symptoms and have not been asked to self-isolate by track and trace services.
