The areas we cover

At the heart of Glasgow’s West End, fashionable Hillhead is situated north of Kelvingrove Park and south of the Kelvin River. Home to many students, academics, actors, writers, broadcasters and various professionals, it is an economically and culturally diverse area.

Served by the subway system (Hillhead and Kelvinbrige stops) and various bus routes, Hillhead is a convenient choice for city centre workers and the many public and private school options, including Hillhead High School and Glasgow Academy, provide great choice for families.

Full of things to see and do, area highlights include Glasgow University, the Botanic Gardens and Kibble Palace, The Grosvenor Cinema and Oran Mor Theatre. Hillhead’s most famous street, Byres Road, provides a unique shopping experience amongst its many independent boutiques and nearby Ashton Lane, with it’s top dining options, continues to be a popular night time spot.

One of Glasgow’s most affluent areas, Hyndland is characterised by it’s red sandstone Victorian and Edwardian terrace apartments and town houses on quiet streets. In the west end of the city, Hyndland borders the Broomhill, Dowanhill, Partickhill and Kelvinside areas.

Hyndland Secondary School is an option for families in the area and Hyndland train station provides a rail link to the rest of the city.

Nearby are many excellent delicatessens, Cafes and Restaurants as well as boutique shopping options. Cottiers Theatre and Western Tennis Club are in the area, providing opportunities for sports and entertainment.

Kelvinside is an affluent area in the west end of Glasgow, known for its Victorian terraces and villas.

There are various reputable public and private school options, including Kelvinside Academy and Glasgow Academy. Gartnaval General Hospital is a large teaching hospital local to the area and the nearest train stations are Hyndland, Kelvindale, Anniesland or Hillhead subway station.

A picnic in the nearby Botanic Gardens, and stroll around the impressive Kibble Palace glasshouse provide the perfect weekend family activity.

Finnieston has fast become a very popular residential and recreational spot in the west end of Glasgow. Adjacent to the Clydeside Expressway and with convenient subway, rail and bus links, it’s a particularly accessible area.

Once at the heart of the city’s shipbuilding industry and comprising mostly of warehouses and docks, now lies modern accommodation options, office spaces, shops and a vibrant bar and restaurant scene.

Having started his career at Clyde Property's Byres Road branch in January 2007, Lewis started as a Trainee Estate Agent. Within six months he was promoted to the position of Trainee Valuer and moved to the Stirling office where formal training would stand him in good stead for a bright future with the company. In this position, Lewis' love for traditional tenement flats was quickly replaced with one for sprawling detached villas, idyllic countryside dwellings and the personal nature of selling homes for growing families. After a fruitful five months of training, Lewis was then appointed Valuer in Clyde Property's Hamilton branch where he works and lives to this day. This gave Lewis the opportunity to diversify his role, taking on responsibilities for letting valuation as well as Estate Agency. Having worked in this role for over six years, Lewis has an un-rivalled local knowledge of both sales and letting throughout the Lanarkshire territory and now holds the position of Area Director.

Enjoying an estate agency and property career of almost 20 years, Oliver joined Fox Leisure Estate Agents and Surveyors in 1996 whilst studying a degree in Estate Management at Reading University. This then lead to a job with DM Hall back in Scotland, where he felt he was more in tune dealing with the exciting dynamics of the Scottish residential market. A spell and Slater Hogg & Howison and Rettie & Co were both enjoyed but in 2005 joined Clyde Property's West End team, which is where his passion for service and property now lies and remains.

Craig's career began with Clyde Property in March 2016 when he joined the Technical Compliance Team within our Clarkston Letting Management Centre. It was here that his love and passion for the industry was discovered and he was soon promoted to Letting Negotiator, making the move to the Byres Road office located in Glasgow's West End. In April 2018 Craig was further promoted to Area Letting Manager within our Clarkston branch an. After a short successful term in Clarkston, August 2018 saw Craig's role expand again as he stepped up to become Area Letting Valuer covering both West End and Shawlands. Having lived locally all his life Craig has an excellent local knowledge which allows him to provide accurate and invaluable advice to both landlords and tenants alike. Craig prides himself on his levels of customer service, ensuring that each client's individual needs are met at all times and to that end he has recently obtained his Association of Residential Letting Agents Qualification (ARLA).

Judy has been working in estate agency and letting for over 20 years and has a wealth of experience in the residential letting market. Since joining Clyde Property's letting team in February 2000, Judy has worked in several of our offices including Bearsden, Shawlands and Clarkston. She has been based in our Byres Road office since 2011 as Senior Letting Negotiator and has successfully completed her ARLA qualification. 

In 2018 Judy was promoted to Letting Manager in the West End office. Her experience and local knowledge of the West End market allows her to provide accurate advice to both landlords and tenants alike.

Full marks to the Clyde team at West End branch. Their service was excellent and I found the 'MyClyde' web logs and updates to the process particularly helpful as I was selling on behalf of a relative and doing so from outside Glasgow. Being able to log on to see the viewing appointments live on their system was great. The log entries for comments left by viewers really helped to see what was happening from a distance.

I found the whole process smooth and understandable and a good sales price was achieved in only a few weeks. I was offered a choice of fee options and found the fees very competitive.
